compassionate counselling that goes beyond words

Welcome
Drawing Hope Counselling Services uses creative therapies to help people to navigate life's challenges, and find hope, healing and purpose.

Drawing Hope Counselling Services is the counselling practice of Hannah Cox.
Hannah believes that healing doesn't always happen through words alone. Using creative approaches such as art and play therapy alongside person-centred counselling, she provides a safe and supportive space where people of all ages can express themselves, work through life's challenges, and grow in hope, healing, and purpose.
Every person's journey is unique, and Hannah tailors each session to reflect their individual needs, interests, and goals. Wherever you are on your journey, she is here to support you in taking the next step towards a more hopeful future.
Hannah uses a strength based, client-directed approach that is trauma informed and neurodivergent affirming.
creative therapies are helpful when words are not enough to express your feelings
Counselling using creative therapies can be particularly helpful for:
- children and teens
- people who are neurodiverse
- people with disabilities,
- people who have experienced trauma
Creative therapy can be a fantastic option when people struggle to articulate themselves, when talk-therapy fails, and/or when people want to explore solutions in a positive, non-threatening way.

no art skills or abilities are needed to engage in art and creative therapies

Hannah believes each person is the expert of their own life, and with support can find the best solutions and paths to healing that are unique for them.
Hannah is a qualified and certified counsellor.
Hannah has a Masters of Counselling, a Bachelor of Social Science majoring in Pastoral Counselling, and a certificate in Art Therapy.
Hannah is a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (Level 4) and with the Australian Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
Hannah is also an emerging artist and has artworks displayed in homes around the world.
However there has been no greater educator than life!
Hannah has learnt a lot about parenting, autism and ADHD, and the struggles and heartaches that are faced by families with a child with a disability through the experience of being the mother to two neurodiverse children. They have also taught her about the challenges that people with autism and ADHD face, and about the strengths and joys that simultaneously exist.
Hannah is a 'Third Culture Kid' having spent most of her childhood in PNG, and she has lived experience of managing an incurable health condition, and of overcoming mental health difficulties.
